A diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer is a life-changing event. And it is also an opportunity to reevaluate and make lifestyle changes to cope with and thrive during treatment. Science has provided numerous improvements in the treatment and management of Pancreatic cancer, and most importantly, your Healthcare team has evolved to include many members with valuable expertise. Experiencing Pancreatic Cancer is now a Team Sport. And YOU are the most important member of the team.
Barb serves as the Executive Director of Cancer Services at UCLA Health. This role is dedicated to the integration of services across the care delivery system at UCLA Health. Barb works closely with the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center to ensure integration of services with research imperatives. While serving as the operational Administrator for Hospital Based Clinics such as Bowyer and Pediatric Infusion, and the Hematology Oncology Community Program including the Simms Mann Center for Integrative Oncology, Barb also supports Radiation Oncology (all sites), Nuclear Medicine (diagnostic and therapeutic), Cancer Genetic Screening and Testing, Cancer Services Analytics and Palliative Care. Importantly, Barb is responsible for measuring and characterizing the dynamics of the cancer program to support a System-wide approach to strategic planning and program expansion. The goal of the Cancer Services program is to standardize systems and processes for all patients receiving Cancer Care at UCLA Health.
A great resource for our pancreatic cancer community, we are delighted to have Barb Jagels present “Preparing for and Thriving Through Pancreatic Cancer Treatment: Chemo, Surgery, and Recovery Tips” at the 20th Annual Symposium.
