Planned Giving

Ensure your legacy makes a lasting impact in the fight against pancreatic cancer. Planned giving allows you to support cancer research beyond your lifetime, and as a result save countless lives in the future. The Hirshberg Foundation has made a commitment to Never Give Up in the fight for a cure, but we can’t do it alone. Make a will using our custom FreeWill tool to not only give your loved ones peace of mind, but to also change the course of this disease forever. Leave a Legacy that Never Gives Up!

To help you get started on your plans and legacy, you can use FreeWill, an online tool that guides you through the process of creating a legally valid will or trust. It’s easy to use, accessible online and can be completed in 20 minutes. You can use this resource on its own to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney to safeguard your estate.

Questions about Planned Giving

  • What is Planned Giving?

Planned giving refers to any charitable gift or bequest made in lifetime or at death as part of your overall financial and/or estate planning including a will.

  • Why do I need an estate plan?

Everyone should make a will or living trust, regardless of wealth. When you create or update your will, you can look after your loved ones and give them an easy map to follow. In short: it provides peace of mind!

  • How will my estate plan make an impact?

When you write a will, you can preserve your legacy by leaving a part of your estate to the Hirshberg Foundation.Your gift will continue to fund critical pancreatic cancer research and programs, making an impact for years to come.

  • What’s included in my estate plan?

A last will and testament or living trust lists assets and property, charitable gifts, determines guardians for children and pets, and names an executor.

  • What should I do before I create my estate plan?

Take stock of your assets and make a thorough list, have a conversation with loved ones about who you want to be your executor, and determine what causes you may want to support.

  • What should I do after I make my estate plan?

Print your will and sign it in front of witnesses to ensure it’s legally valid (FreeWill gives you detailed instructions). Store your will in a safe place!
