How Teams Can Honor A Loved One at LA Cancer Challenge

From our Team Tribute Video to our Memory Quilt, we have many ways to honor or remember your loved one each year

June 4, 2025

LA Cancer Challenge Teams are at the heart of this beloved Hirshberg Foundation event. Families, friends, co-workers and communities celebrating survivors or honoring the memory of a loved one help make this event so meaningful.

In addition to creating a team and showing your team spirit by wearing a costume or carrying a team sign, here are additional ways to honor a loved one at the LA Cancer Challenge each year.

Wear a Tribute Bib

Patient Support
Visit the Hirshberg Foundation Booth on event morning to fill out a complimentary purple tribute bib to be worn in memory or support of loved ones.

Team Tribute Video

Patient Support
Participate in the Team Tribute Video, a long-standing LACC tradition honoring all of the survivors and loved ones who have battled pancreatic cancer. We share our favorite photos set to inspirational music.
How To Be A Part of the Team Tribute Video

If you want to shine a light on your loved ones and team members, follow the instructions below.

  1. Email 3-5 photos sent by email to sbanks@pancreatic.org.
  2. Format: JPEG, no screenshots, make sure the image isn’t blurry.
  3. Photos can include: photos of your team at a past LA Cancer Challenge, photos of your loved one impacted by pancreatic cancer, and/or group family photos that include your loved one.
  4. Deadline to email photos: October 1 for submission.

Memory Banner

Patient Support
Create a square for the Memory Banner. Squares will be sewn together into a banner displayed at the Start Line. New squares are added each year.
How to Submit a Square for our Memory Banner

If you want to shine a light on your loved ones and team members, follow the instructions below.

  1. Decorate any 13 inch x 13 inch piece of fabric (cotton, cotton blend or woven cotton only please).
  2. Leave a 1 inch border around all sides that is free of all decoration (decorated area is 12 inch x 12 inch).
  3. You can iron-on a photo, draw a picture, decorate with stencils, buttons, fabric paints, etc.
  4. Mail square to us: 2990 S. Sepulveda Blvd, Suite 300C, Los Angeles, CA 90064 by October 1.

Aren’t crafty? Give us your Team T-Shirt and we will add it to our quilt!
